After a strong start to the 2021 Penrite Australian V8 Superboats season, a season which has seen record crowds, the introduction of a global television footprint and a social media audience in the millions, the AFJSA has been forced to modify the calendar for the remainder of the season after the most recent Covid 19 outbreaks in New South Wales and Victoria.

At the end of the day competing has to take a back seat to ensure everyone’s health and safety. Therefore in the best interests of the sport, we have no choice but to postpone the next round until later in the year.

Ideally we would like to provide details of the revised calendar, however under the current circumstances where infections are continuing to spread and numbers remain high, we can’t predict what will happen over the course of the next few weeks, so until that picture becomes clearer, we will keep our options open, however one of those options is to change the proposed Cabarita round, and shuffle the calendar to make it the season final on December 04-05. Confirmation will come once the current situation becomes clearer.

For now, the focus is on remaining safe within the guidelines issued by the State and Federal Governments, with updates coming about the continuity of the 2021 season as soon as more details are released on the future of border crossings.
